The biggest con is the complexity of the install and getting everything to work correctly. The aforementioned sound completely real. There are weaker legacy instruments, as well, yet even they sound like something you'd find on an expensive Yamaha keyboard meaning the sound great. There are exotic instruments of many kinds. Being able to liven up a song with an Oboe that sounds like an Oboe is a pleasure. The horns, flutes, strings, saxes and seemingly countless instruments are a fantastic pleasure to work with. I have both Slate and Superior Drummer 2.0, so this came as a huge surprise to me. Abbey Roads Drums are surprisingly amazing. It has a sweet and warm sound that feels too invasive of the artist herself. I'm not that much into synths so it hasn't been a primary focus.Īlicia Keys quickly became my favorite piano.

I have hardly touched the synths as I don't yet know how to access them. I wish there had been some reverbs as I love rich reverbs. I primarily use UAD and Slate, and feel they're on par with the best. I didn't expect the compressors, EQ and delays to be that good. I built the 14 core i9 that I put these on, and still this software was not a breeze to install.įor the most part the VST plugins are of fantastic quality. I had trouble with Cubase 9.5 blacklisting certain instruments and getting others to play. There are also items that are either not installed correctly, or I don't yet know how to access/use them. There is so much here that it's impossible not to get overwhelmed. If I can, it will be with these VST instruments and VST plugins. I would love to create something elegant, beautiful, and original. I have always been a very serious, and highly motivated musician. Paired with a DAW, it's quite possible, if I have the creative ability. I've always wanted to create my own symphonic rock masterpiece on the level of Strawberry Fields Forever, ELO, or Zappa, or Pet Sounds.
